Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate

Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate is a pale green or blue-green powder or sand-like solid. It is on the Hazardous Substance List because it is cited by ACGIH, DOT, NIOSH and EPA.

Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate is used for pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, chemical analysis, photography, iron plating baths and as a polymerisation catalyst. It is approved for the production of cellophane for food packaging.

ChEBIL: Ferrous ammonium sulfate (anhydrous) is a compound of ammonium, iron and sulfate in which the ratio of ammonium to iron(2+) to sulfate ions is 2:1:2. It has a role as a ferroptosis inducer. It is a metal sulfate, an iron molecular entity and an ammonium salt. It contains an iron(2+).
