Vitamin E nicotinate is the derivative of Vitamin E. Vitamin E nicotinate exhibits antioxidant activity and prevents lipid peroxidation. Vitamin E nicotinate upregulates levels of CD4+ T cells and IL-2, exhibits immunomodulatory activity. Vitamin E nicotinate exhibits antiplatelet and antihypertensive activities, that can be used in atherosclerosis and thrombosis ressearch[1].
To a three-necked flask add 250g of dichloromethane, add 50g of nicotinic acid, 43.9g of N,N'-carbonyl diimidazole, 30 C reaction for 2 hours, take 122.5g of tocopherol dissolved in 150g of dichloromethane, and then dropwise added to the reaction system, dropwise, 35 C reaction for 4 hours, and then wash with water and saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate, respectively, separate out the Organic layer, recovery of dichloromethane under reduced pressure, concentrated to dry, add anhydrous ethanol crystallization, filtration, drying to get the refined product, that is, VE nicotinic acid ester 137g, yield 90%, product HPLC purity 99.6%.
