Allyl methacrylate is an important cross-linking agent that provides effective bifunctional cross-linking in the second stage, with good chemical resistance, impact strength, adhesion, hardness and low shrinkage. Used in dental materials, industrial paints, silicone intermediates, light stabilizers, optical polymers, elastomers and some vinyl and acrylate polymer systems. It is also used in oil additives as flow improver, in-floor waxes, textile and metal coatings, paint, varnishes, pressure-sensitive adhesives, low temperature caulks, and sealants.
Allyl methacrylate (AMA) is an acrylic monomer with two types of vinyl groups which include methacrylic and allylic based double bonds. It is mainly utilized as a cross-linking agent to increase the hardness of the base material. It also facilitates an improvement in the heat resistant property of the resin.
