Betaxolol hydrochloride is a cardioselective β-adrenergic blocker, reportedly devoid
of intrinsic sympathomimetic and membrane stabilizing properties. Its long
duration of action permits once-daily dosing in mild to moderate hypertension. It
is also being evaluated in glaucoma.
