The general procedure for the synthesis of 2-amino-3-trifluoromethylpyridine from 2-fluoro-3-trifluoromethylpyridine was as follows: 750 g of 2-fluoro-3-trifluoromethylpyridine and 700 g of water were added sequentially to an ammonia reactor, followed by the slow addition of 250 g of liquid ammonia. The reaction system was heated up to 130 °C, and the reaction pressure was maintained at a set value for 10 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the system was cooled to 90 °C and the reaction mixture was transferred to a receiving kettle. After further cooling to 10 °C, the solid product was obtained by centrifugation and dried to obtain 2-amino-3-trifluoromethylpyridine in about 95% yield.
