Haematoxylin

Hematoxylin is a small organic compound extracted from a tree that forms strong complexes with certain metal ions, such as iron. It is the most well-known dye used in pathology. It remains the primary technique for the demonstration of microscopic nuclear details of cellular and tissue components.
