p-Toluidine Hydrochloride acts as a reagent for the preparation and biological activity of N-acylleucine (arylaminoethyl)amides as non-covalent inhibitors of cathepsin K, L and S. Catalyst in the chemistry of azasteroids.
Off-white to grayish-white crystals.
Water soluble. May be sensitive to moisture.
4-Methylaniline hydrochloride reacts with oxidizing and alkali materials. .

Poison by
intraperitoneal route. Moderately toxic by
ingestion. Questionable carcinogen with
experimental carcinogenic and tumorigenic
data. When heated to decomposition it
emits very toxic fumes of NOx and HCl. See
