tert-Butylphenyl diphenyl phosphate is combustible.

1. p-tert-Butylphenol reacts with phosphorus oxychloride catalyzed by anhydrous AlCl to form an intermediate.
2. This intermediate reacts with phenol. The temperature is raised and held under vacuum to remove by-products.
3. The reaction mixture is diluted with toluene/cyclohexane, washed with alkali and water, and concentrated to obtain the product.
