Phenylsilane (PhSiH3) may be used as a reducing agent for the partial reduction of phosphine oxide groups in poly(4,4′-diphenylphenylphosphine oxide) (PAPO) to phosphine. It can also undergo photopolymerization with methyl methacrylate(MMA) to form poly(MMA) containing SiH groups. PhSiH3 may be used as a silicon source to synthesize crystalline Si nanowires via Au-nanocrystal-seeded supercritical fluid-liquid-solid (SFLS) synthesis.
phenylsilane is used as a pharmaceutical intermediate.
ChEBI: Phenylsilane is an organosilicon compound that is benzene in which a hydrogen is replaced by a silyl group. It has a role as a reducing agent. It is an organosilicon compound and a member of benzenes.
Employed in the reduction of esters to ethers.
Reduces α,β-unsaturated ketones to saturated ketones in
the presence of tri-n-butyltin hydride. Reduces tin amides
to tin hydrides. Used in the tin-catalyzed reduction of
nitroalkanes to alkanes. Reduces α-halo ketones in
presence of Mo(0).
The method for preparing phenyl silane comprises the following steps: adding trichlorophenylsilane in a tetrahydrofuran solution dissolved with a catalyst, carrying out a reaction at the temperature of -10-0 ℃, after the completion of the reaction is monitored by a TLC method, adding the product into an inorganic acid dilute solution under an ice bath condition, and extracting an organic layer, to obtain phenyl silane.
