UV-1130 is a kind of hydroxyphenyl benzotriazole ultraviolet light absorber. It is viscous liquid, and the appearance is light yellow to light amber. It is soluble in polar and non-polar solvents, but insoluble in water. It could effectively protect the coating luster, and avoid cracking and producing spots. The product is easy to emulsify, especially for water-based systems. Its dispersion in an aqueous system can be achieved by dissolving in a water-soluble solvent such as diethylene glycol diethyl ether.
It has good resistance to high temperature and anti-extraction properties. The product is particularly suitable for the field of industrial with high weather resistance requirements and automotive coatings, and it also provides adequate protection for woody sensitive substrates.
It can be sold as a commercially available coating, combined with hindered amines (HALS), such as light stabilizers 292 or 123. These common synergists significantly improve coating performance, and prevent loss, cracking, blistering, shedding and discoloration.
Light stabilizers can be added to automotive varnishes or primers. However, according to our experience, the protecting effect is the best by adding light stabilizer in the topcoat.
