2,4-D-dimethylammonium is selective phenoxy herbicide and plant growth regulator.
2,4-D Dimethylamine Salt can be used as analyte in biological and analytical studies of evaluation of individual and combined management practices to reduce off-site transport of pesticides from golf course turf.
Commercial production starts with technical grade 2,4 D acid which is then neutralised it with dimethylamine in a controlled aqueous or mixed solvent system to form the dimethylammonium salt. The reaction is straightforward acid–base neutralisation, followed by filtration (if needed), concentration, and quality control testing to yield the technical salt for formulation.
Brown liquid. A solution of the dimethylammonium salt of the weak organic acid 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid. Used as an herbicide.
N-Methylmethanamine 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate neutralizes acids in exothermic reactions to form salts plus water. May be incompatible with isocyanates, halogenated organics, peroxides, phenols (acidic), epoxides, anhydrides, and acid halides. Flammable gaseous hydrogen may be generated in combination with strong reducing agents, such as hydrides.
N-Methylmethanamine 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate is combustible.
Selective, systemic, absorbed through roots and increases biosynthesis and production of ethylene causing uncontrolled cell division and so damages vascular tissue. Synthetic auxin.
