Crystal Violet NEW

Crystal violet, also known as Gentian violet, basic violet 3, and methyl green, neutral red, methylene blue, saffranine, hematoxylin, malachite green, methyl violet, basic fuchsin is currently commonly used synthetic alkaline dyes, dye index number CIBasicViolet3(42555), belongs to triamino-triphenylmethane compounds. The appearance is dark green powder or flake crystal with bronze luster, and the commercial product is a mixture of 4, 5 and 6 methyl basic parafuchsin hydrochloride, in which the content of 6 methyl derivatives is not less than 96%. Crystal violet industrial products called alkaline purple 5BN, alkaline cyanine, mainly used for silk, acrylic fiber, hemp, paper, leather dyeing and pigment, printing oil and ink.

Used as an acid-base indicator, pH discoloration range 0.1(green) ~ 2.0(blue). In analytical chemistry, it is used as a non-aqueous titration indicator, biological staining agent, color developing agent in colorimetric determination, and also used to test thallium, zinc, antimony, titanium, cadmium, tungsten, gold, mercury plasma. Crystal violet is also an important dye in bacterial Gram dyeing, which can be used as a dye for silk, paper, acrylic fiber, etc. The solubility of chloride in water is 1.68%, and the solubility in 95% ethanol is 13.87%. The solubility of iodide in the two solvents is 0.035% and 1.78%, respectively. The mixed reagent of crystal violet chloride and iodide is called Gentian violet. The commonly used dyes for bacterial staining samples are alkaline fuchsin, crystal violet, methylene blue and so on.

Application:

1 Mainly used in the manufacture of ink, carbon paper, gentian purple, etc., can also be used for cotton, acrylic fiber, silk, paper, leather, grass products dyeing, can also manufacture color lake
