Prostaglandins are naturally occurring, 20-carbon, cyclopentano–fatty acid derivatives produced in mammalian tissue
from polyunsaturated fatty acids. They belong to the class of eicosanoids, a member of the group of autocoids
derived from membrane phospholipids.
