Sodium 3-[[(dimethylamino)thioxomethyl]thio]propanesulphonate (DPS) is a copper plating additive that can be used to improve the gloss and tensile strength of electrolytic copper foil. It is widely used in automotive parts and semiconductor products.[1]
Sodium 3-[[(dimethylamino)thioxomethyl]thio]propanesulphonate(DPS)is used as a basic brightener in cupper electroplating baths. It is also used as pharmaceutical intermediates.
Sodium 3-[[(dimethylamino)thioxomethyl]thio]propanesulphonate (DPS) is a brightener for copper electroplating. Copper layers deposited with DPS are very bright, flat and ductile. DPS can be used for copper plating in industries as diverse as automotive parts and semiconductors. The goals of copper baths vary and include changing the appearance, enhancing conductivity or preventing corrosion. It is possible to combine DPS with non ionic surfactants, aminic polymers, polyethylene glycols, and other sulphur compounds. DPS can be also used as a stabilizer for plating precious metals.
