Sodium thyroxine, also known as L-thyroxine sodium or levothyroxine sodium, is an important hormone used to treat human diseases such as hypothyroidism, cretinism, myxoma, thyroid adenoma, and obesity.

At present, most of them use L-tyrosine as raw material through iodination, N-acylation, esterification, oxidative coupling reaction, hydrolysis reaction to get L-thyroxine, and then formed into salt to get L-thyroxine sodium sodium.
