This noraporphindione base occurs, with liriodenine and lysicamine, in the callus tissue of Stephania cephalantha. It forms reddish crystals from EtOH and has been separated from the accompanying bases by column chromatography
Norcepharadione B is an alkaloid that can be isolated from Houttuynia cordata. Norcepharadione B exhibits moderate cytotoxicity against A-549, SK-OV-3, SK-MEL-2, XF-498 and HCT-15 cell line with ED50s of 40, 26.4, 40, 14.2 and 38.2 μg/mL, respectively[1].
