released from the adrenal gland. DHEA has been shown to reduce inflammation, support wound healing,
and slow down the skin aging process. The ability of palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 downregulates IL-6 and other proinflammatory cytokines has been shown to be comparable to anti-inflammatory properties of
DHEA in vitro in both resting cells and cells stressed with inflammation. Rigin, a cream containing
Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, has been shown to improve skin elasticity and texture.
Rigin is a tuftsin-like tetrapeptide with the sequence G-Q-P-R that is derived from IgG. Rigin exhibits immunomodulatory activity, stimulating phagocytosis, activating polymorphonuclear lymphocytes and macrophages, and protecting against stress-induced damage.
