Uses
GB 2760--1996 stipulates that 2-Furfurylthio-3-methylpyrazine is temporarily allowed to use food spices.
Definition
ChEBI: 2-Methyl-3 or 5 or 6-(furfurylthio)pyrazine (mixture of isomers) is an aryl sulfide.
Research
FFM as a food spice is in accord with GB 2760 -1996 standard. It can be used for soft drinks, cold drinks, baked goods, and seasonings. Therefore, the damage caused by 2-Furfurylthio-3-methylpyrazine (FFM) as a corrosion inhibitor to humans and the ecological environment is very small. In addition, FFM has good solubility in 0.5 mol/L H 2SO. Electrochemical experiment data show that FFM can exhibit a prominent anti-corrosion nature for copper in H 2SO 4 medium in the temperature range of 298 K to 313 K . Potentiodynamic polarization curve results show that the corrosion inhibition efficiency of FFM can be as high as 97.9% at a concentration of 5 mmol/L. The surface morphology test results show that adding 5 mmol/L FFM in H 2SO 4 medium makes the copper sample relatively flat after soaking for 20 hours, and the roughness value is only 7.84 nm. The XPS experimental results show that the S and N atoms in the FFM molecule can form N -Cu and S -Cu bonds on the copper surface to generate chemical adsorption. Besides, the FFM adsorption on the copper/solution surface[1].
