Side effects
Possible side effects of Methylphenidate Hcl may include: nervousness, difficulty sleeping, loss of appetite, weight loss, dizziness, nausea, vomiting or headache; it may also increase blood pressure. Serious side effects include signs of blood flow problems to the fingers or toes (e.g. coldness, numbness, pain or change in skin colour), unusual cuts on the fingers or toes, fast/irregular heartbeat, mental/mood/behavioural changes (e.g. agitation, aggression, mood swings, unusual thoughts, suicidal thoughts), uncontrolled muscle movements (e.g. twitching, trembling), fainting, seizures, symptoms of stroke (e.g. weakness on one side of the body), difficulty in speaking, sudden vision loss. weakness, difficulty speaking, sudden vision changes, blurred consciousness). In rare cases, men (including young boys and adolescents) may experience pain or prolonged erections lasting 4 hours or more while using this medicine. Rare allergic reactions that may occur include: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, difficulty breathing. Contact your doctor promptly if you experience any of the above severe or uncomfortable sensations.
