What is the crystal of TiO2?

May 21,2024

TiO2 is the white pigment in the paint on your walls, cars and kitchen appliances; in the plastic of bags, food packaging, window profiles, siding and flooring; in fine paper and laminate countertops, and many other applications.

Titanium dioxide TiO2 has different crystalline phases, brookite, anatase and rutile. One of these phases, anatase, is active under the irradiation of ultraviolet (UV) rays, to be called 'photoactive', and one of the important photocatalysts, especially for the detoxification of water and air.

Titanium Dioxide Single Crystal is a single crystal from the Goodfellow range. Variations of these single crystals are available and are used for research applications across physics, chemistry, and materials science. The purity, lack of grain boundaries, and specific orientation of the crystals make them ideal for use as monochromators, analyzers, and electrodes.
