Is the combination of calcipotriene and betamethasone dipropionate more beneficial than monotherapy?
Yes. The combination of topical calcipotriene and topical betamethasone dipropionate has been shown to be more beneficial than monotherapy. A new topical fixative combination formulation of Calcipotriene 0.005% and Betamethasone Dipropionate 0.064% cream base (Cal/BD Cream) has been shown to be highly effective in the treatment of psoriasis of the body and scalp, providing rapid and significant improvement in the itching, tingling, burning, and pain symptoms experienced by patients. In addition, patients preferred the cream base to the foam compared to the Cal/BD foam. And no adverse events were reported during the study.
