Description:
Norethisterone is the first orally highly active progestin which is synthesized. It was synthesized for
the first time by chemists Luis Miramontes, Carl Djerassi, and George Rosenkranz at Syntex in Mexico
City in 1951.
It is used for irregular menstruation, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, endometriosis, dysmenorrhea,
amenorrhea, excessive endometrial hyperplasia, etc.It's also used alone or in combination with estrogen
to inhibit ovulation and is used as a contraceptive for female.
Dosage:
Take 1 tablet 3 times a day starting 3 days before your next period is due. Norethisterone should be
taken for no longer than 20 days.
