Characteristics Phosphorus pentoxide is white amorphous powder or white snowflake crystal, and its relative density is 2.39 and boiling point 347℃. It will turn to amorphous glass when ambient temperature is up to sublimation, the melting point is 563.0℃, and polymerize quadrangle crystal when higher temperature. Tends to absorb moisture and dissolve in water to produce meta, pyro and ortho phosphoric acid. Acid anhydride has an affinity for water, and captures compounded water from other compound, such as, sulfuric acid, nitric acid and alcohol, but is difficultly soluble in acetone and ammonia.
Applications It is used as raw material for producing high-purity phosphoric acid, phosphate and phosphate ester, also as antistat for synthesizing fiber. Used as drying agent for gas or liquid, as dehydrator agent for organic synthesis, and also used in manufacturing optical glass, uviol glass, heat-protecting glass, glss-ceramics and opacified glass etc.. In addition, it can produce drug and surfactant.
Packaging PE plastic bags, net weight 20Kg/bag, with obvious symbol“corrosive corporation”.
Storage Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from sunlight.
