4-Acetylamino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-2,7- disulfonic acid [134-34-9] , N-acetyl H acid, is produced by reacting H acid in aqueous alkaline solution with acetic anhydride at 70℃ for 1 h, followed by heating at 95 C for 2 h to hydrolyze the O-acetyl derivative (yield 88 %). It is used to produce C.I. Acid Red 1, C.I. Acid Red 35, and C.I. Acid Violet 7.
4-Acetamido-5-hydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid is used as an intermediate for reactive dyes, specifically for the reactive dye Brilliant Violet KN-4R.
