Setrusumab (BPS 804) is a fully human monoclonal antibody targets sclerostin. Setrusumab efftively improves bone strength. Setrusumab can be used for the resesrch of Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) and cancer[1].
in vivo
Setrusumab (100 mg/kg; i.v. once a week for 4 weeks) inhibits breast cancer-induced bone metastases and muscle weakness in mice[1].
Animal Model:
8-week-old female immune-compromised CB-17/lcr-Prkdcscid/Rj mice with MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells injection[1]
Dosage:
100 mg/kg
Administration:
Intravenous injection; 100 mg/kg once a week for 4 weeks
Result:
Significantly inhibited tumor growth in bones and breast cancer cell dissemination into other organs. Inhibited breast cancer-induced osteolytic lesions and subsequent loss of bone mass of the distal femur and of the proximal tibia. Redued phosphorylation of IKKα, IKKβ, and p65.
