Disodium methanearsonate is commercially produced through the neutralisation of methanearsonic acid with sodium hydroxide. In industrial settings, methanearsonic acid is synthesised by reacting methylarsine oxide with oxidising agents. This intermediate is then treated with sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate to form the disodium salt, resulting in disodium methanearsonate.
