Calcium Ammonium Nitrate is a fertiliser consisting of approximately 20%-30% CaCO3 and 70%-80% ammonium nitrate, which may also contain a small percentage of calcium nitrate. It contains nitrogen in the form of ammonia and nitrate to provide plant nutrition throughout the growing period. Nitrogen in the form of calcium ammonium nitrate is absorbed by a simple and direct method, and calcium ammonium nitrate has no restriction on the time of application and responds well to both low and high temperatures, contributing to strong crop growth and increased grain and protein yields.
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN) is a high quality fertiliser that can be used as a primary, pre-sowing and follow-up fertiliser on a wide range of soils and all types of crops. Under normal use, the fertiliser does not acidify soils and provides plants with calcium and magnesium. It works best in acidic soils, sodic soils and soils with a light granular composition.
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate is produced by adding powered limestone or calcium nitrate to ammonium nitrate.
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate has a wide range of benefits including: (1) Balanced ratio (50:50) of fast Nitric (NO3) and extend Ammoniacal (NH4) absorbable Nitrogen; (2) Immediate and medium-term nutrition, adjusted to the needs of the plants; (3) Year-round reliable supply to crops. Flexible fertilising schedule; (4) Protect Nitrogen in the soil and minimise its losses due to leaching and vaporization; (5) Capacity to utilize the moisture in the soil, which allows for their use in all weather conditions; (6) Calcium supply to the soil, improves the stability and fertility; (7) Robust growth of the root system and improved water and nutrient uptake; (8) Neutral reaction in the soil. Suitable for all soil types; (9) Additional supply of Magnesium and Boron to crops (Nitrocan special); (10) Nutrient uptake in the soil. special); (10) Excellent granulometry, which guarantees a wide distribution and a uniform dispersion of Nitrogen to the soil.
