SSF-109 is a broad-spectrum fungicide which has protective activity against plant disease. SSF-109 inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol at the 14α-demethylation step in Botrytis cinerea[1].
Huanjunzuo is produced commercially through triazole based fungicide synthesis, involving the construction of a cycloheptanol backbone substituted with a 4 chlorophenyl group and a 1,2,4 triazolyl moiety. Industrial manufacture begins with preparation of the chlorophenyl intermediate, followed by controlled cyclization to form the cycloheptanol ring. Subsequent coupling with a triazole derivative under regulated temperature and solvent conditions yields the active compound.
Sterol C14 biosynthesis (demethylase) inhibitor. Inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol at the 14a-demethylation step.
