2-bromocarbazole is synthesized by the follow the steps: 4-bromobiphenyl is used as a starting material, an intermediate is prepared by nitration, then tri(2-pyridyl)phosphine is used as a deoxidizing agent to remove the oxygen on the nitro group of the intermediate and then a ring is closed to obtain the product.
2-Bromocarbazole has important applications in organic light-emitting materials (OLEDs) with excellent optoelectronic properties and high photoluminescence efficiency.
