Formic Hydrazide

Formic hydrazide is a synthetic organic compound resulting from the combination of formaldehyde and hydrazine. This compound exhibits solubility in water, alcohol, and other polar solvents. It finds application as a reagent in peptide and protein synthesis, as well as in the study of enzyme-catalyzed reactions. Furthermore, formic hydrazide plays a role in the synthesis of organic compounds and dye preparation. Additionally, its utility extends to the preparation of nitro compounds and the investigation of metal-catalyzed reactions.

Formic Hydrazide was used in the synthesis of 1,2,4-triazole derivatives. It was also used in the synthesis of new anticancer agent, 6-N-formylamino-12,13-dihydro-1,11-dihydroxy-13-(β-D-glucopyranosyl)-5H-indolo[2,3-a]-pyrrolo[3,4-c]carbazole-5,7(6H)-dione.
