  • Description Geranyl propionate has a fruity, somewhat flowery odor and a bitter taste. Prepared by esterificaiton of geraniol with propionic acid in the presence of a catalyst.
  • Chemical Properties Geranyl Propionate has a fruity rose odor and is used in perfumery in heavy blossomfragranceswith a secondary fruity note.
  • Chemical Properties Colorless liquid; roselike odor. Soluble in most oils; insoluble in glycerol. Combustible.
