Description
Atractyloside is a natural heteroglucoside produced in some plants, including
A. gummifera. Atractyloside prevents mitochondrial ATP synthesis by inhibiting ADP/ATP translocases, which are responsible for the exchange of adenine di- and triphosphates across the inner mitochondrial membrane.
