Description
Mulberrin (Mul) is a critical component of the traditional Chinese medicine Romulus Mori, which has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Studies have indicated that Mul promotes Nrf-2/HO-1 signaling to attenuate oxidative damage, inflammation accumulation, and myocardial apoptosis. In addition, Mul confers protection against hepatic fibrosis by improving Nrf2 nuclear translocation[1].
Uses
Mulberrin is has potential as a hepatoprotective nutraceutical compound. It can also be used for antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.
