Biological Activity
8-Azaguanine is a triazole-antimetabolite th at displays varies pharmacological effects including anticancer, antiviral and antifungal. It is easily incorporated into ribonucleic acids including rRNA and tRNA. 8-Azaguanine appears to alter mRNA splicing in SF3B1 mutant cells. 8-Azaguanine novel immunomodulatory drug (IMiD) th at significantly increases the cytotoxicity of NK cells.
Purification Methods
Dissolve it in hot M NH4OH, filter, and cool. Recrystallise it, and wash it with water, then dry it in a vacuum. [Beilstein 26 III/IV 4171.]
