It is a member of 1,3-benzoxazoles, an organochlorine compound, an aromatic ether, a member of monofluorobenzenes and a tertiary carboxamide.
Production Methods
Metamifop is commercially produced through a multi-step synthesis involving aryloxyphenoxypropionate chemistry, starting with the preparation of key intermediates such as 6-chlorobenzoxazole and fluorophenyl derivatives. The process includes etherification of the benzoxazole with a phenol derivative, followed by amidation with N-methylpropanamide containing a fluorinated aromatic ring. These steps are carried out under controlled conditions using organic solvents and catalysts to ensure high yield and purity.
