Preparation
Malonic dihydrazide can be prepared by heating oxalic acid with hydrazine in a suitable solvent to generate oxalate hydrazine salt. Subsequently, it is prepared by reacting with sodium bicarbonate or other bases.
Application
Malonyl hydrazide is an acyl hydrazide derivative, mainly used in the fields of fluorescence chemistry and materials chemistry.
Chemical Properties
Malonic acid hydrazide behaves as a white crystalline powder at room temperature and pressure, and the hydrazide group can be formed into a stable hydrazone bond by reacting with aldehydes or ketones.
