Synthesis
General method: a mixture of 2-amino-5-chloropyridine (1 mmol) and 2-bromoacetophenone (1 mmol) was placed in a microwave reaction tube. The reaction tube was placed in a microwave synthesizer and the reaction conditions were set to 65 °C, 120 W power and 1 bar pressure. After 15-20 min of reaction under microwave radiation, the reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature. The crude product was purified by alumina column chromatography with dichloromethane as eluent to give pure 6-chloro-2-phenyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine.
