2-(Methacryloyloxy)ethyl phthalate monoester is a colourless to light yellow transparent liquid or solid powder, flash point 172 °C, refractive index 1.52, specific gravity (20/20) 1.23, soluble in DMSO, store in dry, dark place at a short term temperature of 0 - 4 °C and long term at -20 °C.
Uses
2-(Methacryloyloxy)ethyl phthalate monoester is a cross-linking agent that can be used in tissue culture. It is also a photosensitising chemical that has been shown to increase the efficiency of energy production in cells, and clinical studies have shown it to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. In addition, 2-(Methacryloyloxy)ethyl phthalate monoester is also used in paint and coating manufacturing.
