It is also a photosensitising chemical that has been shown to increase the efficiency of energy production in cells, and clinical studies have shown it to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. In addition, 2-(Methacryloyloxy)ethyl phthalate monoester is also used in paint and coating manufacturing.
