Uses
Zinc Methionine Sulfate is a source of dietary zinc that is the prod-
uct of the reaction between equimolar amounts of zinc sulfate and
dl-methionine in purified water. it has a zinc content of 19–22%,
dl-methionine of 46–50% and not more than 0.05 ppm of caduim.
it is used in tablet form.
Synthesis
A method for preparing zinc methionine sulfate, comprising the following steps:
(1) Salt-forming reaction step: to a 100-liter reaction kettle with a heating device, electric stirring, and a thermometer, 100 moles of methionine, 1500 moles of water, 55 moles of zinc oxide, and 2 moles of formic acid were put in sequence, and the reaction was heated at 70-80C simultaneously under stirring, and it was reacted under stirring for 6 hours, and the heating was stopped, and the salt-forming reaction was completed.
(2) Drying step: the granular product obtained by centrifugal separation, placed in the upper and lower permeable stainless steel drying sieve, and put into the drying oven for drying; after 24 hours, the obtained product is sieved to get the finished product of zinc methionine, which contains more than 15% zinc.
