General procedure for the synthesis of tert-butyl 3-aminoazetidine-1-carboxylate from 1-BOC-3-azidoazetidine: tert-butyl 3-azidoazetidine-1-carboxylate (0.420 g, 2.19 mmol) was dissolved in EtOAc (20 mL) and 10% Pd/C (100 mg) was added. The reaction mixture was stirred under hydrogen atmosphere (balloon). After 12 h of reaction, the catalyst was removed by filtration through a diatomaceous earth pad. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuum to give a colorless oily product (1.76 g, 99% yield), which could be used in subsequent reactions without further purification.1H NMR (CDCl3): δ 1.50 (s, 9H).
