Uses
Basic Blue 54, also known as Cationic Blue RL or Cationic Brilliant Blue RL (Cationic Brilliant Blue 2RL), is a blue-green powder that dissolves in water to produce a blue color. It is suitable for dyeing acrylic fibers. It is commonly used for dyeing loose acrylic fibers, fiber strips, and acrylic yarns. It is also used for dyeing acrylic blankets and acrylic knitted fabrics, as well as for direct printing on acrylic, diacetate, and acid-modified polyester fabrics. It can be combined with Cationic Red 2GL and Cationic Yellow 7GL to form the three primary colors, allowing for the blending of various colors up to black. It can also be used to blend light to medium shades such as beige, coffee, camel, and gray on acrylic blankets. When dyeing in acetic acid and sodium acetate baths, the color is stable below pH 5, but the pH should not exceed 6, otherwise the color will change. If dyeing is done in sulfuric acid or formic acid baths, the color remains unchanged. For printing, the ground color can be brightened using a whitening agent like Decolin.
Preparation
2-Amino-3-methyl-6-methoxybenzothiazolium chloride?diazo, and N,N-dimethylaniline coupling, and then use dimethyl sulfate of quaternary ammonium salt.
Properties and Applications
bright blue. Blue-green powder. 20 ℃ in the solubility of water when for 10 g/L, solubility influence by temperature is very small. A bright blue dye acrylic, tungsten light in a red. 120 ℃ high temperature dyeing, colored light unchanged. The dye solution should not be boiling. Compatibility value is 1.5, the f value is 0.21. Mainly used in acrylic fiber, fiber and scattered the dyeing wool terylen article, can be directly printing and white.
