2,2-Bis(3-amino-4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane is an important compound used as a raw material for functional polymers such as polyimide, polyamide, and polybenzoxazole.A method for producing 2,2-bis(3-amino-4-hydroxyphenyl)-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane which comprises reducing 2,2-bis(3-nitro-4-hydroxyphenyl)-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane with hydrazines in the presence of a platinum and/or palladium catalyst.
