Can Spermidine supplements delay aging in humans?

Maybe. Numerous studies have shown that Spermidine is a true age-protectant, naturally occurring in food, and critical to cellular and organismal function through highly conserved pathways. There are seven lines of evidence supporting its anti-aging properties: (i) Spermidine levels decline in most, but not all, of the tissues and species studied during the aging process. (ii) Spermine supplementation extends health and longevity in several species. (iii) Epidemiological data suggest that increased dietary intake may attenuate, delay, or halt age-related declines, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, and cognitive dysfunction. (iv) Metabolic processes within and adjacent to the polyamine pathway are well understood as pharmacological targets and are highly conserved across species, allowing informed use of models and development of targeted interventions. (v) Spermidine affects most aging characteristics. (vi) Spermidine appears to be safe in humans. (vii) The bioavailability of spermine appears to be quite high in mammals.
