What is chlorella spermidine?

Apr 19,2024

Chlorella and spermidine are interrelated in their potential to promote anti-aging effects. Spermidine found in Chlorella supports cellular autophagy, a process of removing damaged cellular components. At the same time, Chlorella itself serves as a natural dietary source of this compound. Together, they contribute to the overall maintenance of cellular health, slowing aging and potentially promoting longevity. Notably, some chlorella is found to contain approximately 300 ppm of spermidine.

Chlorella is a tiny single-celled green alga that lives in freshwater. It's a plant about the same size as a human red blood cell and has existed on earth for over 3 billion years. Chlorella is very well studied in humans and animals. It is a dietary staple in some parts of the world, with over 7 million people in Japan consuming Chlorella daily.

Chlorella may have other key benefits beyond spermidine:
It's rich in protein.
It's high in chlorophyll, vitamins, and minerals like iron and zinc
It improves the absorption of nutrients like calcium
It provides antioxidants and phytonutrients found in leafy greens
It's associated with reduced risk of chronic diseases and improved immune function.
