Enfuvirtide Acetate is a peptide composed of 36 amino acids, approved by the US FDA in 2003 for use in combination with other anti HIV drugs in the treatment of HIV infection. Envirotide Acetate is a new type of antiretroviral drug, which is the pioneer of anti AIDS drugs in the past seven years. Enfuvirtide Acetate simulates the HR2 domain and is a 36 amino acid peptide synthesized from the HIV-1 gp41 protein. It is a selective and effective HIV-1 fusion and infection inhibitor that can bind to the HR1 trimeric helix, preventing the formation of the HR1-HR2 six helix bundle and thus preventing viral particles from fusing with host cells.
