Triisopropyl silane is an organosilicon compound whose main uses include:
- Protection of hydroxyl groups: triisopropyl silanes can selectively protect hydroxyl groups, especially in polyfunctional hydroxyl compounds. This is very important in the synthesis of nucleosides, nucleotides and carbohydrates.
- Synthetic antifouling coating: It is one of the raw materials for synthetic antifouling coating compositions, which can prevent or inhibit mucus adhesion, have excellent water resistance, and can effectively produce anti-fouling effects for a long time.
- Preparation of silicyl methacrylate: The triisopropyl methylpropene calcium zinc heat stabilizer silicate can be directly obtained by acid hydrolysis of the silane of triisopropyl silane.
- Preparation of high-purity triisopropyl silol: In the presence of a small amount of triisopropyl silol, triisopropyl silane reacts with a base to produce high-purity triisopropyl silol.
- Preparation of surface waterproofing agent: By mixing triisopropyl silane with other raw materials, a surface waterproofing agent can be prepared to prevent water and other ions from entering the air encapsulated characteristic material through cracks and capillary action, improving its durability.
