tert-Butyldimethylsilyl trifluoromethanesulfonate is a highly reactive silylating agent and lewis acid capable of converting primary, secondary and tertiary alcohols to their respectctive TBDMS. tert-Butyldimethylsilyl trifluoromethanesulfonate is also used to covert ketones and lactones into their enol silyl ethers.
