use
It is an excellent solvent, widely used as an extraction agent for aromatics extraction, lubricating oil refining, acetylene concentration, syngas desulfurization, etc., and also used in industrial cleaning
Preparation method
It is produced by the reaction of gamma-butyrolactone with methylamine. The first step is the reaction of gamma-butyrolactone and methylamine to form 4-hydroxy-n-methylbutyamide, and the second step is further dehydration to form N-methylpyrrolidone. The two-step reaction can be carried out continuously in a tubular reactor with a molar ratio of γ-butyrolactone to methylamine of 1:1.15, a pressure of about 6MPa and a temperature of 250℃. After the reaction is complete, the finished product is concentrated and distilled under pressure. The yield is 90%. If the reactor is used for production, the amount of methylamine is 1.5-2.5 times the theoretical amount, taking laboratory preparation as an example. Add 2mol gamma-butyrolactone and 4 moles of liquid methylamine into a 500ml autoclast, heat tightly, and keep at 280℃ for 4h. After cooling, excessive methylamine is released, distilled, and the fraction of 201-202℃ is collected to obtain about 180g of product with a yield of about 90%.
