Marbofloxacin is a new type of fluoroquinolone antibacterial. It inhibits the growth of bacteria by inhibiting the DNA transcriptase of bacteria. It has antibacterial effects on Gram-negative bacteria, Gram-positive bacteria and Mycoplasma. Marbofloxacin can be well absorbed through oral and injection administration, with low side effects.
Marbofloxacin is used for the respiratory tract, digestive tract, urinary tract and skin infections of cattle, pigs, dogs and cats caused by sensitive bacteria. It is also effective for bovine and goat mastitis and swine mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome.
Application & Function
Marbofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibacterial drug used to treat deep and superficial skin infections, urinary tract infections in dogs, skin and soft tissue infections in cats, and acute upper respiratory infections.
Used for respiratory tract, digestive tract, urinary tract and skin infections of cattle, pigs, dogs and cats caused by sensitive bacteria. It is also effective for bovine and goat mastitis and swine mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome.
Withdrawal period: 6 days for cattle, 1.5 days for milk abandonment period; 2 days for pigs.
Marbofloxacin can be used both orally and topically. It is particularly used for infections of the skin, respiratory system and mammary glands, as well as with urinary tract infections in dogs and cats. For dogs, a dose of approximately 2 mg/kg is used. The duration of treatment is usually at least five days, longer if there is a concurrent fungal or yeast infection.
